Isopropyl Alcohol Distillation

Variable Transformer – 84% Output
Electric Stove – 100% Output

     A glass distillation apparatus like the picture above is required. They can be found on Amazon, and on eBay for $70-$150+. A water pump, hose, glass thermometer, ice water bath, and a hot water bath. The hot water bath must have a way to control temperature. I used an electric stove with a pot of boiling water. I control the temperature with a variable transformer.

• Distillation setup requires 72C to distill. This temperature is low enough to start dripping.

• Adjust thermometer to sit at condenser level for accurate reading.

• It should be noted that this is a slow process that will take hours to complete.

• Stop distillation 5%-10% before alcohol proof is reached.
